Frontline News was the predecessor to Canadian direct action publications Combat and Underground, the inspiration for popular 1990s website animal-liberation.net, and one of the earliest declarations of ALF support in North America. The early issues were typed and mimeographed newsletters, while issue 3 and 4 were more professional and moved to newsprint. The rarity of physical copies- especially the first two- is difficult to overstate. It took 9 years of searching to find a copy of issue 2! Special thanks to Matthew Jones for tracking it down and sending the scans. Researchers of animal rights history should note that some of the only articles about the Kentucky Fried Five arrests appear here.
